At our 2022 season we achieved a major millstone with the introduction of a custom made Chompy trophy. The Golden Chompy was sculpted in 3D by Dante Rockford: a talented 3D artist based in Mexico. The model was then 3D Printed and fabricated by Karl Wills from the Comicbook Factory in Auckland NZ.

The Golden Chompies embody the spirit of our festival. They represent our top honors in recognition of the winning film makers and their amazing projects. The only way to get your hands on one of these is to enter and win! What are you waiting for?

As you can guess, these trophies are not cheap to produce and each one costs nearly $300 to make, so in a way, they are worth their weight in gold. Therefore we can only produce a very limited amount every year.

As our festival grows, we aim to produce enough of these to award them to all our category winners. For now, we’re concentrating on presenting these to film makers who attend our epic festival awards night in Aotearoa New Zealand.
